Brewday Experience

Spent a brilliant day at the brewery 'helping' to make their first ever batch of 7%(ish) Passion Fruit and Mango Milkshake IPA (would you believe!!?). In fairness, the very knowledgeable and infecitously passionate George did all the hard work. Just hope it turns out ok - sure it will. Great to see an independent place that really cares about its beer and the quality of what they are making here really shows. Only a 10bbl brewery but still a lot bigger than the homebrew kit I use. If you're into making beer then this is a cracking way to spend the day.

As a Birthday present for a friend I purchased two vouchers for us to spend the day brewing beer. We learnt about the different hops, filled the brewing vessels with all the ingredients and even helped to shovel out grain after the liquid had been moved to next stage. The brewer explained each stage which helped make the day a great experience, even had tastings and pasty lunch. My elderly friend who came along even managed to join in without to much effort, it was great to see him enjoy himself. Great idea for a present or just a treat for yourself, will make us appreciate the work that makes a good pint next time we have one.

My son and I spent a wonderful day in the Brewery getting plenty of hands-on experience making a brew while learning the technicalities and background from George the head brewer. George is so knowledgeable and enthusiastic and he clearly enjoys sharing this. He was an excellent guide. Sharing the experience with fellow 'day brewers' John and Martin only added to the fun. Catering was superb with top quality pasties, tea and coffee and lots of beer sampling. We are looking forward to sampling our mango inspired brew in a couple of weeks. For other sons out there, this was an excellent Fathers Day present. (There is limited parking there but since the beer sampling is extensive, walking is to be recommended. Don't dress smart, there is work to be done!)
